NEWS: The Old Vic to produce live-streamed A Christmas Carol from an empty auditorium.


Adapted from the famous Dickens classic by Jack Thorne and directed by Matthew Warchus, the Christmas season WILL be celebrated by London's Old Vic Theatre, but the two week run of the show will be streamed live online, whilst the actors perform on the stage of an empty auditorium.

The production, which first ran 4 years ago, will play 16 perofrmances between 12 - 24 December, and 80,000 tickets are being amde available for home viewing from anywhere in the world. with the broadcast showing live each night. Ticket prices will renage from £10 - £65 but only one ticket wil be required per viewing group / household / family. 

Casting is yet to be announced by the company, but Warchus has mentioned that a certain well known star has already shown great interest in the lead role. Warchus also stated, "It has been such a moving thing to witness how so many people have rallied around to support the Old Vic, and theatre in general, at this time of serious jeopardy."
