NEWS: CBBC stars join cast of Happy Ever After at Poole's Lighthouse this Christmas

CBBC’s Naomi and Ed join Happy Ever After this Christmas at Lighthouse

Lighthouse is delighted to announce CBBC presenters Naomi Wilkinson and Ed Petrie will join Chris Jarvis in Happy Ever After, this year’s Christmas show (with just a smidgen of pantomime).

Specially made for this year onlyit’s a one-hour Christmas show for a socially distanced audience in which well-known characters from pantomime help Cinderella get to her next ball. The accent is on song and dance with lots of comedy – a fun family show so that we can all come together at Christmas and put the worries of the world to one side.

Naomi Wilkinson has her own show on CBBC, Naomi’s Nightmares of Nature and since 2012 has co-presented Marrying Mum and Dad – in which children plan their parents’ weddings – with her Happy Ever After co-star Ed.

“I am over the moon to be heading to Poole this Christmas,” says Naomi. “We can’t wait to share some festive magic, sparkle and joy with the kids, after a very challenging year for everyone. I think we all need a bit of Happy Ever After in our lives right now!

Parents and children alike will also know Naomi from co-presentinLive ‘n’ Deadly with Steve Backshall, as well as from spells on MilkshakeCITV and PBS Kids.

Actor comedian Ed made his panto debut at Lighthouse in 2011 playing Buttons in Cinderella and returned in 2014 as the dashing hero of Robin Hood.

I can't believe how lucky I am getting to spend a third Christmas at Lighthouse,” he saysI'm not sure wholl be having more fun – the audience or me!

Having worked as a stand-up comedian and appeared in C4 comedies Green Wing and Smack the Pony, Ed is best known as a children’s TV presenter.

He was nominated for a BAFTA in the Best Children’s Presenter category in 2008 and collected the BAFTA for Best Children’s Channel when it was won by CBBC. As well as Marrying Mum and Dad, Ed fronts the CBBC show All Over the Place with guests including his Happy Ever After co-star Naomi.

Happy Ever After is written and directed by CBeebies favourite Chris Jarvis who will be dressed as Buttons to introduce a host of pantomime and children’s storybook characters.

Happy Ever After is on sale now and runs from 18 December to 3 January. For tickets and information visit www.lighthousepoole.co.uk.
