It's the Ninebarrow concert that nobody saw... until now!

In March, for the first time, the highly acclaimed Poole-based folk duo were due to be joined not only by cellist and long-term collaborator, Lee MacKenzie, but also the extraordinary talent of John Parker on double bass and Evan Carson on percussion. Sadly, the pandemic meant the cancellation of the entire tour.

Undaunted, during the subsequent lockdown and beyond Jon and Jay of Ninebarrow launched a series of innovative online concerts. With full HD video and studio quality sound, they’ve broadcast multiple times from their home in Poole, from a candlelit church in Purbeck, and have even broadcast a full ‘multi-media’ concert live from a soggy field in North Dorset.

Now, they’ve decided to bring audiences the ‘band show that never was and on Saturday 12 December at 7pm The Ninebarrow Band Live at Lighthouse goes live to the world online. Filmed live at Lighthouse with full theatrical lighting, there will be brand new songs from their upcoming album and stunningly realised arrangements of some old favourites.

Complete with a live introduction broadcast from their home HQ and a live Q&A with Jon and Jay after the show, this promises to be a night to remember!

Not only exceptional singers and musicians, Ninebarrow are equally passionate about the stories behind their songs – an evening with the duo promises much more than great music with history, folklore, and storytelling.

The BBC Folk Award nominated duo released their last album, The Waters and the Wild in April 2018 to widespread critical acclaim. It was awarded five-stars in both The Morning Star and the English Folk Dance & Song Society’s EDS Magazine, and has received airplay on BBC Radios 2, 3, 6 Music, Wales and Scotland. Folk luminary, Mike Harding, hailed it as ‘absolutely monumental’.

To purchase an e-ticket for the show, simply visit https://www.ninebarrow.co.uk/lighthouseAn e-ticket will allow you and anyone in your household to watch the concert live online, or to catch-up at any point seven days after the original broadcast so that if you’re not able to join Ninebarrow on the night or your internet goes down, you won’t miss out.
