NEWS: Coward's sparkling wit comes to Cambridge Arts Theatre later this month with 'Private Lives'.

PRIVATE LIVES
NOEL COWARD
CAMBRIDGE ARTS THEATRE
22 - 27 NOVEMBER

Noël Coward’s gloriously entertaining Private Lives is the inaugural show from The Nigel Havers Theatre Company which will be performing in Cambridge with a wonderful line-up of theatrical gems.

Elyot and Amanda, who were once married, find themselves on honeymoon with their new partners, in the same hotel on the French Riviera, admiring the view from adjoining balconies. Their initial horror quickly evaporates and soon they are sharing cocktails. Who knows what the future holds for them now…?

The Olivier Award-winning Patricia Hodge, one of the country’s most loved actresses, plays Amanda. Nigel Havers, ever suave and thoroughly charming, plays Elyot, the role taken by Noël Coward himself in the original 1930 production. Playing their new spouses, Victor and Sibyl, is Dugald Bruce-Lockhart (Theatre includes: Mamma Mia, The Three Lions) and Natalie Walters (TV includes: I May Destroy You, Horrible Histories).

Nigel Havers is one of the country’s favourite actors, starring in roles such as Lord Andrew Lindsay in

Chariots of Fire and as Lord Hepworth in Downton Abbey. Nigel is also well-known for his regular appearance in the acclaimed annual pantomime at the London Palladium. He is returning to the Cambridge Arts Theatre for the first time since performing the lead in Art in 2018.

Patricia Hodge OBE has many credits including Money and A Little Night Music at the National Theatre. She is also well known for her television appearances as Penny in Miranda, Ursula Thorpe in A Very British Scandal and Mrs Pelham in Downton Abbey.
