NEWS: Internationally acclaimed contemporary circus 'Lost In Translation', comes to Salford's Lowry Theatre this August.

 

Internationally-acclaimed Lost in Translation partner with The Lowry to delight Manchester audiences during their  10^th anniversary year  

Wednesday 11^th – Saturday 21^st August 2021

 

Lost in Translation, one of the UK’s leading and most spellbinding contemporary circus companies, is partnering with The Lowry this summer. Pitched in Prince’s Park, audiences will be delighted in the Big Top in the Park by high throws and high thrills in two highly acclaimed shows – The Hogwallops and Above. 

Above is an enchanting circus fable inspired by Italo Calvino’s novel The Baron in the Trees, telling the story of the rebellious Cosimo, who takes up life among the treetops. Vowing to spend his life up in the trees, he has adventures with pirates, falls in love and watches the revolutionary ideas of the Age of Enlightenment unfold below him. Designed for audiences of all ages, this comical and exciting production features high-flying aerial stunts, amazing acrobatics and hilarious knockabout slapstick juggling.  

The Hogswallops follows a family unlike all others. The Hogswallops are crazy, hilarious and awe-inspiring. Everyday activities are extreme; dinner is indescribably nerve-wracking, bedtime and teeth-brushing require a bungee and a high-level jet spray, while dressing is a game of flying aerial wardrobe antics. 

As leaders in the field of story-led circus productions, Lost in Translation have delighted audiences across the world, from Australia to the Edinburgh Fringe. At the heart of their actbuilding is a palpable passion for bringing communities together and contributing to cultural recovery. The year of their 10^th anniversary sees the company swing into a community festival to enchant audiences of Manchester.

This thrilling production features Company Director and Performer, Massimiliano Rossetti and core artist Roisin Morris, the Guinness World Record holders for most catches on the Korean Cradle – a discipline rarely seen on UK stages.
