NEWS: Tickets on sale for Carol Concert with Bournemouth Symphony Chorus at Poole's Lighthouse


BSC carol concert and new shows go on sale at Lighthouse this week 


Despite the recent government announcementplanning continues in anticipation of audiences returning for live shows next month and Lighthouse, Poole’s centre for the arts, is able to announce Bournemouth Symphony Chorus will stage its annual Christmas Carol Concert on 23 December. 


Directed by Gavin Carr, Bournemouth Symphony Chorus present a wonderfully festive programme of carols including all-time favourites such as O Come All Ye Faithful, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Silent Night, Ding Dong Merrily on High, the traditional Sussex Carol, Shepherds Pipe Carol by John RutterCarol of the Bells and the familiar Sans Day Carol (The Holly & the Ivy). 


The Chorus will be joined by Bournemouth Symphony Children's Choir and Youth Chorus, directed by Victoria Gray, with organist Sam Hanson and there are two performances, at 5.30pm and 8.30pm. 


As well as the Christmas Carol Concert tickets also go on sale this week for two great new shows: 


• Uptown Joel. Friday 11 December 2020. Theatre. The iconic songs of Billy Joel, performed by Darren Reeves, star of the Broadway and West End hit musical Movin’ Out.  After auditioning in New York, Billy personally chose Darren to play the demanding, energetic lead role of The Piano Man. Supported by a five-piece live band, Uptown Joel celebrates the amazing songwriting of this legendary artist. 


• In the Night Garden LiveWednesday 2, Thursday 3 June 2021. Theatre. Two performances a day, at 10am and 1pm. An amazing musical theatre experience for all the family as children's favourite CBeebies’ stars – IgglepiggleUpsy Daisy, Makka Pakka and friends – are all brought beautifully to life on stage using full-size costumes, magical puppets, enchanting music and breathtaking projections. 


Tickets go on pre-sale to Lighthouse Friends only from Wednesday 4 November and on general sale from Friday 6 November. Tickets must be booked in advance at https://www.lighthousepoole.co.uk.

Subject to the latest safety guidelines, more shows will be announced in the coming weeks.
