This short film shown as part of Ad Infinitum Theatre Company's "Where You Are" Mini-festival, is written and performed by LGBTQ poet, David Ellington.
Written and filmed during the first lockdown it is an ode to freedom, but also a very personal statement of how he was feeling at that time... when love, liberty, harmony and togetherness are taken from us, we feel fragile, imprisoned, frsutrated.
In the film Ellington performs his poem using suitable backdrops and accompanying music with the words of the poem appearing as Ellington performs them; however the difference here is that he is not speaking them, but instead using theatrical mime, physical stimuli around him and BSL to bring the words to life.
A surprisingly interesting and dynamic film which, in these strange times, really touches a nerve.
