BOOK REVIEW: No Room For The Innocent

TITLE: No Room For The Inncoent. Part 3 of The Leveller Trilogy.
AUTHOR: Dan Wheatcroft
PUBLISHED BY: Independant publisher

Another tense page turner in the final of the Leveller trilogy in which DCI Thurstan Baddeley reluctantly recognises the return of an old enemy, but there's a complication, an encoded clue received and a conundrum that leads to personal and professional quandaries for both of them.

Readers will find this three part action-packed police procedural thriller set in Liverpool unputdownable; the books can be read out of order but it will be better to start at book one so as to recognise all the characters in the multiple plots.

The world of DCI Baddeley comes to the fore in the third part of this excellent trilogy; the quest is to catch the mysterious Nicks.

Set once again in Merseyside, Nicks, a government sponsored agent, continues his job of ridding the streets of the criminal elements that remain untouchable if due process is followed. But there's a catch, his controller goes silent and Nicks is in danger. He has no way of knowing who to have faith in; he receives an encoded missive from beyond the grave and he must look to a questionable source to help him before his world is ripped apart.

This book has a well thought-out storyline that will keep readers guessing with well-rounded likable characters who interact together brilliantly.

It is another thrilling instalment of the saga with a gripping story from beginning to end; once started, it was difficult to put down. I found each book as I followed the investigation, exciting and very well-written with plenty of unexpected twists and turns; all in all, it was very enjoyable with engaging characters.
