Latest new shows for next year go on sale this week at Lighthouse 

With audiences now returning to Lighthouse, Poole’s centre for the arts is delighted to be able to reveal the latest additions to its 2021 programme. 

Highlights include the Lighthouse debut of all-round entertainer Rob Brydon with A Night of Songs and Laughter that will more than live up to its billing; and legendary rocker Francis Rossi of Status Quo fame shares the story of his life on the road in I Talk Too Much. 

We are thrilled to welcome back the force of Nature that is Justin Fletcher MBE with a new version of his Justin Live show and after taking our inaugural Lighthouse: OUTSIDE season of shows outdoors by storm last September, the brilliant HandleBards return with the full stage version of their unashamedly silly take on Romeo & Juliet. 

The full line up of shows to go on sale this week is: 

• Linus Karp: how to live a jellicle life. Saturday 13 February. 3pm, 7.30pm. Sherling Studio. Life lessons from the hit movie musical Cats – expect jellicle laughs, jellicle dance and a very jellicle PowerPoint presentation. 

• Swan Song. Saturday 20 February. 3pm, 7pm. Sherling Studio. A bittersweet comedy written by multi award winning Jonathan Harvey, the one-man shows stars TV and stage actor Andrew Lancel and is directed by BAFTA award-winning Noreen Kershaw. 

• The HandleBards: Romeo & Juliet. Thursday 18 March. 7.30pm. Theatre. With music, mayhem and more costume changes than you can shake a spear at, expect the HandleBards’ usual irreverent, charming and hilarious style to come bursting onto the stage. 

• Armonico Consort: St Matthew Passion. Sunday 28 March. 3pm. Concert Hall. International tenor Ian Bostridge joins the world class period instrumentalists and singers of Armonico Consort to bring Bach’s masterpiece to life.  

• Justin Live – The BIG Tour. Saturday 29 May, 11am, 2.30pm. Concert Hall. CBeebies superstar and children’s favourite Justin Fletcher returns to Lighthouse in an all-singing, all-dancing extravaganza. 

• Francis Rossi: I Talk Too Much. Saturday 4 September. 7.45pm. Theatre. The legendary Status Quo singer opens up about the highs and lows of life on the road with one of the biggest rock bands ever. 

• Rob Brydon: A Night of Songs and Laughter. Friday 24 September. 7.30pm. Concert Hall. Accompanied by an eight-piece band, for the first time Rob Brydon has created a show that includes songs and music as well as his acclaimed wit and comedy. 

Tickets go on pre-sale to Lighthouse Friends only from Wednesday 9 December and on general sale from Friday 11 December. Tickets must be booked in advance at https://www.lighthousepoole.co.uk.
