The Octagon launch a 12 Days of Christmas campaign |
As the festive season arrives and the holiday shopping begins, the Octagon have launched a brand new campaign to support their Octagon Future Fund. The 12 Days of Christmas campaign features 12 ways the public can support the venue, and includes some wonderful gift ideas, festive on-line activities and new ways to donate to the registered charity. 2020 should have marked the opening of the Octagon’s brand new building following a £12million two-year redevelopment, but the Covid pandemic forced the opening to be postponed until early 2021. This Christmas will also be the first year in their 53 year history without a festive production, with the world premiere of their new musical adaptation of A Christmas Carol re-scheduled to next year. Despite these setbacks, the Octagon are working hard to open their doors again, determined to come back bigger, bolder and braver than ever before. Some of the ways the public can support the venue this Christmas include: become an Octagon Member; buy an Octagon Gift Voucher; purchase a ticket to a festive on-line event; make a donation; gift an Octagon Membership; sponsor a seat in the Octagon’s brand-new auditorium; become an Octagon Patron. Danielle Fearnley, Head of Development at the Octagon said: “As a registered charity we rely on the support of those who believe in what we to do to ensure we can keep making a positive difference to people's lives here in Bolton. There are lots of ways you can continue to support the Octagon this Christmas: from buying a loved one a gift voucher to making a donation. We have also just launched a new Text Donate scheme which has made it easier than ever to donate. “Our supporters, audiences and participants are the beating heart of the Octagon, and as our doors remain close we miss you all! The support we have received so far during this unprecedented time has been truly overwhelming, and we couldn’t have gotten through the last 9 months without your generosity, so from myself and the Octagon team a huge thank you for your continued help.” The Octagon’s Chief Executive, Roddy Gauld added: “2020 has been a difficult year for us all, but as we look towards 2021 we are determined to come back bigger, bolder and braver. Bolton has had a tough time and we believe the Octagon has a vital role to play in our community’s health, prosperity and happiness. So please consider supporting your local theatre. As a registered charity your support makes a massive difference to keep world class theatre alive in Bolton. On behalf of everyone at the Octagon we wish you the warmest festive greetings. Thank you for your support and kindness in 2020 and we can’t wait to welcome you back next year.” To find out more information about their Christmas campaign and ways you can support the venue, visit https://octagonbolton.co.uk/ |
