After the success of the Rainbow
Monologues in last year’s Liverpool Fringe festival, Grin Theatre is delighted
to bring to theatregoers the sequel to the iconic Royal Court studio theatre
here in Liverpool.
The show contains 12 LGBTQ+ monologues
that bring the focus on real people and real dramatic stories that so affect
our entire community. The stories display various aspects of our community,
ranging from the dark to the light and everything in between. They share the
sense of a common bond and unity within the LGBTQ+ family and what it means to
be queer.
The show is a celebration first and
foremost and like the rainbow shines brightly in the darker days.
It is an evening of positivity and
empowerment.
The monologues are written by local and
national queer writers including the artistic director of Grin Theatre itself,
Wes Williams.
“It’s so good to bring back the Rainbow’s
for a second time,” says Wes, “the reaction to our first show was overwhelming
and we knew that we had to give the show its deserved sequel”
The show is directed by Dan Scott with a cast of
six extraordinary actors. Please come
and support local LGBTQ theatre and hear our voices and our stories.
It is
advised that the show is not suitable for under 18’s as the show contains very
strong language and adult themes
The Return of the Rainbow Monologues will be
performed at the Royal Court studios on Friday, 10th June at 7.30pm.
