NEWS: National Dance Company of Wales returns to Theatr Clwyd, Mold.

National Dance Company Wales return to Theatr Clwyd

Following their successful visit to the outdoor stage this summer the company return to dazzle audiences again with their performance, Here//Yma.

National Dance Company Wales make dance for all kinds of people in all kinds of spaces. Bringing three pieces that will make you groove, giggle and gasp, the show is bursting with energy and goes from achingly beautiful to laugh-out-loud silly.

First on the bill is Afterimage by Fernanfo Melo. Described as an audience favourite, this piece uses mirrors to create a unique illusion where characters magically vanish and reappear on stage. It’s a beautiful reminder of the importance of communication when we feel disconnected.

Next is Why Are People Clapping!? by Ed Myhill. This piece is set to composer Steve Reich’s ‘Clapping Music’ and uses rhythm as a driving force. The dancers clap and stamp to create the soundtrack creating an uplifting, funny clever piece.

Finally, Moving is everywhere, forever by Faye Tan is vibrant and warm. A satisfying ode to the act of movement - that irresistible impulse to let it all go and nod along to the beat, all set to a magnetic soundtrack by Welsh electronic music duo Larch.

Here//Yma by National Dance Company Wales will run from 5 – 6 November at Theatr Clwyd. Tickets are from £10. Booking available at Theatr Clwyd’s website theatrclwyd.com or by calling 01352 344101.
