FILM REVIEW: Piper - Disney Pixar

What a beautifully crafted and lovely hear-warming little four-minute film this really is.

'Piper' is a sandpiper chick, who shows the rest of the sandpiper community how to find their food. It starts with the chick's mother showing it where the food is to be found, just underneath the moist sand at the water's edge. So starts a wee adventure that has little Piper watching and learning from crabs, seeing the tiny clams open up under water and close again when the water ebbs, and then knowing exactly where the clams can be found and digging out many for herself and the whole sandpiper community.

It's a short and sweet animation which has themes of learning from others, overcoming fears, and helping each other.

Written and directed by Alan Barillaro, produced by Marc Sondheimer and with original music by Adrian Belew it is a wee gem of a film. Absolutely delightful for all ages.
