NEWS: Poole's Lighthouse sends out last call for their global new music project "Making Tracks"

Last call for global new music project Making Tracks
Musicians have until Monday (8 June) to apply to take part in a ground-breaking new music project that will see Lighthouse, Poole’s centre for the arts, host an exclusive online concert and new collaborative work as well as a music workshop.
Making Tracks brings together emerging artists from the UK and around the world to showcase diverse music, initiate new collaborations and explore strategies for music-based environmental engagement.
Since 2010 it has brought world-class music from all over the world to leading venues, but due to the global pandemic this year Making Tracks will be a Digital Edition.
Three of the eight Fellows selected will be from the UK and will take part in a two-week Virtual Residency from 29 June to 12 July using video conferencing platforms. They’ll create new work together and explore strategies for environmental engagement, while receiving professional development and career advice from a team of industry experts.
The Digital Tour, from 20 July until 13 September, will find Making Tracks’ Digital Partners, including Lighthouse, using social media to share including live-streamed performances and new collaborative works incubated during the residency. The tour will happen ‘in reverse’ – instead of travelling to local audiences the public will be invited into the homes of our Making Tracks Fellows around the world.
More than 35 partners with a combined social media following of 458,000 people and a potential reach of more than 1.3 million have agreed to take part.
