NEWS: Poole's Lighthouse offers FREE cinema tickets to celebrate birthday!

Lighthouse celebrates Lottery birthday with ticket giveaway

As the National Lottery turns 25 Lighthouse, Poole’s centre for the arts, is joining hundreds of other organisations in offering free cinema tickets to National Lottery players between 26 and 29 November.

Lighthouse is one of hundreds of National Lottery-funded venues and visitor attractions across the UK saying #ThanksToYou to people who have raised money for good causes by buying a Lottery ticket.

Each day from Tuesday 26 until Friday 29 November Lighthouse will give away ten free tickets to every film (excluding special screenings and Live screenings). Customers who bring a Lottery ticket, old or new, to Lighthouse ticket office will be able to claim a free cinema ticket on a strictly first come first served basis.

More than £40 billion has been raised for good causes by players over the past 25 years in the areas of arts, sport, heritage and community.

“As part of our core funding the National Lottery enables us to present a dynamic artistic programme and maintain Lighthouse as a world class facility for the people of Poole, Dorset and the wider South West region,” says Lighthouse Chief Executive Elspeth McBain.

“That’s why we are offering ten free cinema tickets a day to people who visit with a National Lottery ticket – it’s a way of saying a heartfelt and grateful thank you to the people who have helped fund us.”

There are free tickets available for:
Sorry We Missed You (15) – Tues 1.25pm, 7.55pm, Wed 5.55pm, Thurs 2.10pm
Yves St Laurent: The Last Collections (PG) – Tues 6.10pm
Non-Fiction (15) – Wed 8.10pm, Thurs 4.25pm
The Aeronauts (PG) – Fri 5.55pm
The Good Liar (15) – Fri 8.10pm

Ros Kerslake, Chief Executive of the National Lottery Heritage Lottery Fund, adds: “This year the National Lottery turns 25, and what better way to say thank you than offering special offers at some of the places that players have helped fund.

“It’s not only our wonderful heritage sites that are offering thanks – we also have free entry and special offers at National Lottery funded arts, sports and community attractions – all the places that make the UK such a great place to live.”

The promotion is part of The National Lottery’s 25th Birthday celebrations, running for a five-week period from 14 October until 6 December. There are some incredible activities planned across the UK to celebrate the good causes that have been made possible thanks to National Lottery players over the last 25 years.
