NEWS: Liza Pulman pays homage to Barbra Streisand at Bolton Albert Hall

LIZA PULMAN AND HER BAND PAY HOMAGE TO ONE OF THE GREATEST VOICES OF ALL TIME

An evening celebrating one of the greatest voices of all time, Barbra Streisand, comes to Bolton Albert Halls later this year. Liza Pulman Sings Streisand comes for one night only on Thursday 11th October and tickets are on sale now.

With her fabulous 6-piece band, Liza Pulman, singer, comedienne and one third of the satirical trio Fascinating Aida, celebrates her idol with her hugely successful and critically acclaimed show.

Featuring glorious new arrangements of such classic songs The Way We Were’, ‘Second Hand Rose’, ‘You Don’t Bring Me Flowers’, ‘People’ and many more.

Shows nationwide and in London’s West End have seen sell out audiences and five-star reviews with Liza weaving together history, humour and harmony as she celebrates the songs of the great Barbra Streisand. Liza is excited to bring the show to Hull.

Liza Pulman said: “I formed my amazing 6-piece band a few years ago and hit the road with our first show ‘Songs Of Hollywood’. One of the songs I sang was Evergreen from the film ‘A Star Is Born’, and so many people told me I sounded like Barbra Streisand, which was flattering, then I started to look at how and why that might be.

“She has always been such a huge influence on my singing and on my approach to music that I wanted to celebrate that somehow, so here we are. I know that audiences in Bolton are going to love the show.”

Showbiz is in Liza’s blood. Her performance dreams started young, just like Streisand’s. As the daughter of screenwriter Jack Pulman (I, Claudius, War and Peace) and actress Barbara Young (Coronation Street, Family Affairs, Last of the Summer Wine), Liza’s parents immersed her in a world of film, scripts, acting and music at a young age, which set her up perfectly for a career on the stage. Her mother once met Streisand, and it is stories like this that Liza weaves between songs, bringing not just her exceptional voice, but her storytelling and her own personal slant on Streisand’s life and music to the stage.
