This colourful, lightweight
picture-book has a reading age for 3-9 year olds and takes children into the
world of magical dreams. It uses bright colours for its eye-catching, splendid
illustrations and its compact size makes it very manageable for any child with
small hands to hold. Plus, it's easy-to-slide pages allow for small hands eagerly wanting to turn over to the next part
of the story.
It is an excellent and imaginative
book with exciting, creative animation and a unique bedtime story theme which flows
easily in rhyme and should unquestionably help to send a child contentedly off to sleep.
The story features a strong
female character dressed in her blue space-suit and helmet who sends happiness
and positivity through dreams to all sleeping children.
This tale of the happy half-moon
girl who raises her head when the moon is covered half in shade to smile down
on the children asleep in their beds, relates how she dresses in her moon clothes
and blows her dream-wand to send happy thoughts to fill children’s heads with
joyful dreams. It's a perfect bedtime
story which children will relate to and want to hear again each night before going
to sleep.
The book is brilliant for
youngsters and gives them an opportunity to explore their imaginations. Additionally, it is a supportive tool for
parents who have children who don’t settle down easily to sleep at bedtime as
it combines the creation of a positive atmosphere along with sleep association
which will help combat the problem many parents struggle with.
The author, Jennifer Maher, composed the story in rhyme and in addition provided the illustrations for the
book using digital and freehand illustrations.
