Greater Manchester-based established comedy troupe, The Faces At The Window, have now started a new and exciting venture in a bid to reach a wider audience, and starting today for the next 31 days, they will be publishing a comedy podcast.

Listening to this podcast then it certainly has a very retrospective feel to it. Radio comedy shows of the pre-television era such as The Navy Lark, Hancock's Half Hour, The Goons etc, are obvious influences as well as more modern comedy geniuses including Monty Python. That isn't to say that this rapid-fire comedy sketch show isn't original, it is, and in an era of political comedy and the well-meaning but often ill-advised PC Brigade, this style of comedy is a welcome return to a less censored comedy that isn't afraid to stand up and be counted.
It's bizarre, non-sequential, zany, off-the-wall and certainly has huge potential. The first episode is a little slow and clunky, and it does take some time for the jokes to come, but this is a new medium for them, and so I feel sure that a speedier and more anarchic approach will come once they find their stride.
In a show that is a total pot-pourri of comedy songs, silly sketches, funny voices and surreal happenings, there is bound to be something for everyone, and so, go on, have a listen and find out for yourselves what tickles your funny-muscles.
