Having endeared herself in Home Schooling, Yazmin Walker returns in another two-minute short from NWE Live, again sharing more humorous lockdown observations at the expense of her long-suffering parents.
This time Yazmin’s character has decided to cash in on making face masks, (or should that read face coverings?). In her quest to make a quick buck she has raided her parents’ wardrobes for material, arguing quite reasonably that as they are furloughed they no longer require their work clothes.
Mark Davoren has written another engaging and witty script and Walker again gives another assured and finely judged performance. Her character is blissfully happy to exploit her parents making them turn their own clothes into face masks. No doubt a future Captain of Industry in the making, she readily expects at any minute to receive the thanks of a grateful nation.
I hope there will be plenty more of these short films to enjoy and that in time we may also get to see Walker perform these entertaining monologues in front of a live audience.
