MUSIC CONCERT REVIEW: Music Of The Night - St. Luke's Bombed-Out Church, Liverpool.

'Music Of The Night' is a musical concert being performed alongside other shows at The Liverpool Theatre Festival. The show is being performed at St. Luke’s Bombed Out Church, a beautiful building situated in the heart of Liverpool. All necessary precautions were taken with social distances measures in place and the guests' temperatures taken prior to entry into the venue.

Now on with the show, 'Music Of The Night' - taking its name from one of the famous songs from 'Phantom Of The Opera' was produced by Bill Elms, whose production values were thoroughly observed by the audience. The musical director and pianist, Tom Chester did an excellent job playing the piano to all the songs performed by Roy Locke and Olivia Brereton on the stage.

This was an extremely special evening of the finest musical theatre featuring Internationally acclaimed  Roy Locke (Phantom of The Opera, Australian Opera) as well as special guest direct from the West End, Olivia Brereton (Phantom of The Opera, Les Miserables). A spectacular evening of memorable songs and duets from the most popular and best loved West End and Broadway musicals, including 'Les Miserables', 'West Side Story', 'The Lion King', and of course, 'Phantom Of The Opera'.

Locke's and Brereton’s vocals in 'Music Of The Night' were truly outstanding beyond belief and I felt privileged to listen to their extremely talented voices. Their voices electrified the audience by hitting all the high notes in all the right places perfectly in all the songs. My favourite song of the night was undoubtedly, 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight', which really reasonated with the audience, due to the current situation.

The technical team, Gareth Edwards and Osian Griffiths did a magnificent job ensuring everything regarding the lighting and sound were done with accuracy and precision. As the show was on in the evening, the stage and seating areas of the audiences were brightly lit and this enhanced the production values of the shield so much. I particularly liked how the lights changed, to reflect the moods of the songs.

On a final note, I would strongly recommend going to see 'Music Of The Night' as the duo delivered unforgettable performances singing all these timeless, classic songs. A truly enjoyable evening listening to two outstanding voices. This is just one of the diverse shows being featured at The Liverpool Theatre Festival.
