NEWS: Poole's Lighthouse confident in the future announcing new shows for 2021.

Lighthouse looking forwards as exciting new shows go on sale
As Lighthouse, Poole’s centre for the arts, continues to make ready to reopen its doors to the public on 15 September, the venue is confidently anticipating a COVID-secure future with five new shows for 2021 on sale this week.

The five new shows – the first of the 2021 programme to be announced – cover the broad sweep of entertainment for which Lighthouse enjoys such a fine reputation.
  • Ray Mears: We Are Nature. Saturday 20 February 2021. In a fascinating, inspirational, and educational show, Ray will be demonstrating and explaining techniques that will help us improve our senses and highlight the problems Nature faces today.
  • Grace Petrie and the Resistance Band. Thursday 4 March 2021. A talented lyricist and electrifying live performer, Grace can take the most hostile room and by the end of the night have them singing along with every word.
  • Stewart Lee: Snowflake/Tornado. Saturday 15 May 2021. A double-bill of two new 60-minute sets, back to back from a Lighthouse favourite described by The Times as “the world’s greatest living stand-up.”
  • Rock of Ages: Here We Go Again. Tuesday 15 – Saturday 19 June 2021. The smash hit LA love story musical returns with a torrent of classic rock anthems played loud and proud by an awesome live band. It’s the biggest party in town!
  • Steve Hackett: Genesis Revisited Seconds Out + More. Friday 8 October 2021. Some 42 years after he first played Lighthouseon the eve of a world tour the former Genesis lead guitarist returns to play the band’s 1977 live album Seconds Out, plus other fan favourites.
Although this year has been extraordinarily challenging in so many ways, we have never lost sight of our main purpose – to deliver the world class arts and entertainment that our town and region needs and absolutely should have,’ says Lighthouse Chief Executive Elspeth McBain.

“Now that we can at last see a positive future when we can fully welcome back the audiences that we have missed so much it is an enormous pleasure to be announcing the first of many wonderful shows we can look forward to next year.”

Tickets can be booked at https://www.lighthousepoole.co.uk/whats-on/.

More shows will be announced in the coming weeks.
